Exactly! I wanna do Operation Wolf on the C64, Duck Hunt on the NES, and lots of Light-Gun games in MAME. The Sinden is close, but I think we can make something smart enough now to not need the white border. 🤔 I'll see if someone works out how to hack the G'AIM'E, or a new player enters the game. 😉

Yeah, the cheat for Monty on the Run is to type "I want to cheat" on the high score. It'll answer "yessum boss!" and the screen+border will turn grey.

Start the game — you're not invincible yet! — go to the second screen and collect the boat. The stompers will change, and you're now invincible. 😊

I like the idea of the G'AIM'E, which looks like it might start shipping soon. But it seems to be tied to a console. I want to plug it on to any old emulator. 😊

I do most of my retrogaming on my PCs in the office and living room. So my retro controllers are USB or have USB adapters.. So for the TV on the spare bedroom, I just hid a mini PC behind it, and it runs like a champ. 😎

I just gotta get a Sinden light gun or similar, and life will be perfect. 🤩

I keep all my carefully labelled disks in the storage cubby of my SX-64. 😜

Notes:
WinUAE hates virtual mouse-pointers. Move the VirtualBox virtual-mouse too fast and it really jumps in WinUAE. You can see that when I'm setting Magic64 options.

I should put a Mac at the top level. That would feel balanced. 😊

(This is basically an extension of the kind of hacking I did to joystick's back in the 80's. Many games that used one fire-button+space-bar for a secondary fire. But the fire-button of the other joystick port on the C64 would mimic space. 🤔 So I hacked a second joystick plug to a two-button stick) 😄

But WinUAE's remapping functions are strange and confusing.
What I really want is to leave button 1 as button 1, but make it autofire, and somehow map button 2 to be button 1 and *not* make it autofire. 🤔 In the MAME emulator I could do this easily. Not in WinUAE. But I can do it in hardware. 🕹️ 😈

Exactly. Much of this work I'm doing for one Amiga game, but I'm sure I'll find other uses. 😄 It's a vertical shooter so you're basically firing all the time, and the speed of fire is important. But the power-up is activated by holding fire and swirling the stick.. 😭
