We've never actually had the zygosity (or whatever it is) test done, so we don't know for sure. But it's pretty clear -- we look much more alike than typical siblings

The study also included the long-awaited Grossmans +5 Confusion Matrix, although it made me no less confused. In conclusion, one of us always tells the truth and the other one always lies, but science is powerless to determine which

However, confoundingly, from a statistical POV my writing more closely resembles @chrisbohjalian.bsky.social's work than it does that of my own identical twin. Conversely his work more closely resembles @scalzi.com's work than it does mine. SEPARATED AT BIRTH?!

If I'm reading this correctly, my writing is more likely to be misidentified as my brother's than his writing is likely to be misidentified as mine. MAKE OF THAT WHAT YOU WILL

(I think it's originally a stock stage direction from Elizabethan drama, which could also be where Leiber got it -- he came from a theater family)

I actually meant it as an (extremely) oblique allusion to Fritz Leiber -- the phrase crops up in (I think) Swords of Lankhmar, and I always loved it. Leiber might have been alluding to the zine tho -- I think the dates line up!

Roger Lancelyn Green's book was one of the first things I ever read, and there were a lot more about King Arthur after that ... but I think @levgrossman.com 's done the best job so far of thinking about how the people arriving in boats became English.

A few months ago I was having trouble getting my son into reading. After many, many tries, the book that finally got his attention was that old classic THE SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE AGED 13 3/4.

Also the topic of a stellar Secret Life of Books ep www.secretlifeofbooks.org/podcast-1/ep...
