The good news about Jim O’Neill finally getting around to signing off on ACIP’s recommendations is that kids can now be vaccinated through the Vaccines for Children program. The delay was wholly unnecessary.

I heard from folks whose health insurance plans are being canceled, or who are being kicked off their plans.. I heard from folks who are pissed about the federal shutdown. I heard from someone who just got home from the hospital.

I also learned about the challenges of finding inpatient psych beds for vets with dementia and behavior disturbances, and the near-impossibility for anyone in a wheelchair or with other mobility challenges.

One thing I want to make very clear is that administration of Vets' Benefits and Claims should NOT be impacted by the federal gov't shutdown, and the VA and call center stay open. 📋
