using 'Jefferson' for far northern CA and southwestern Oregon is playing into some real right-wing fantasies, and even then the Mendocino/Humboldt/Del Norte coast is culturally much closer to the Bay Area than it is to northeastern CA

37 plows right through wetlands that are actively being restored, too - when you look out the window , especially this time of year, you see *thousands* of shorebirds

widening the highway at sea level would be incredibly destructive to the huge progress these restorations have made
