The reviewers have the ability to change that stock email so that falls on the reviewer.

I'm a multi-county reviewer, there is a standard email that is sent out on asking for more detail but I let everyone know that they can contact me at any time with questions.
If one is to give out about reviewers can you mention those rare bird reports that have "seen in a tree" as the descriptor.

They used to turn up every year at Nimmo's Pier in Galway but I've heard that's no longer the case.

So the question arrises about why everything was scored down. Was it because of a critical mind was looking at the articles more clearly or were they worried about accepting an article that would go against their bias.

No embarrassment or apologies necessary. I tell the birders I go out with that as a birder one will make mistakes and that I have birded so long that I have more than all of them combined.
