What's up with the vast change in quality between Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows? I read SoC first and thank goodness for that because I would've quit had I read everything in order. Kudos to Bardugo for improving her skills so much honestly, it's impressive

I should really stop kidding myself with this whole "I need to write shorter books" thing. It's 90k words or more for me babes

It's so awesome that I found a way to let my #dyslexic partner read my manuscript. It really is. Truly one of our best discoveries.

I just... don't understand why the magical answer has to be Comic Sans. If there is a god, at least she has a sense of humor.

Wrote 1,200 words yesterday and took a break in the middle of it to do my taxes.

Today? Uh... I pet the cat and ate some food.

I'll be productive... another time.

There's nothing wrong with #romantasy, just like there's nothing wrong with romance. They can be very good.

But for the love of everything can my local BAM heavily promote ANY OTHER BRAND of fantasy?? 😭😭 For me personally I would like more dragons and less kissing please

So what's the consensus on #indiebooks nowadays?

With indie animation and indie games getting bigger, what are the chances of indie books gaining popularity/getting taken more seriously in the mainstream?

Thoughts?

My partner and I have complete opposite #writing styles. #writersky, how many of you prefer note-taking and organization and how many of you write best following your impulses? Are any a mix of the two? I'm curious!

Finding a great book is like biting into an oatmeal raisin cookie and realizing it's chocolate chip and then realizing two hours later that it was also an edible.

Quick Q for the #disabled Blueskiers: as a #writer of fantasy, how should I describe a character who physically cannot speak but still hears? Would "mute" be offensive, or is that only the case for #Deaf people? I can't find any straight answers.

Thank you for your help!

"He had the same slim, white face. The same giant, dark brown eyes that had gone wide with fear.

Not enough of it, Karena thought. Never enough."

My female MC, Karena Laureit! She might not be able to speak, but she'll make herself heard!

I hate it when I get stuck in a research loop when I write. Especially when I'm making up a new setting and I have to keep looking things up over and over. Several hours and only 600 words, but hey, at least this one paragraph about cotton is accurate!

"Judas was worthless. He had to be, or else he wouldn’t be here.

This prison wasn’t somewhere someone of worth was sent."

A line from my WIP 🤭 Meet my baby boy MC, Judas Koleson, the runaway son of a cult leader! And yes, I chose that name carefully...

Marie's fluffy face 🖤 One of my favorite pictures of her, but it's just a little bit creepy...

One of the worst feelings in the world is wanting desperately to share your art and writing with everyone around you and then remembering they'd never look at you the same if they found out your writing had queer characters and progressive, rebellious political themes

Went to BAM yesterday and was reminded yet again that YA titles seem to borrow from the same word bank of around 20 words. I do enjoy books with titles like this, but it's a definite turnoff.

What about a title makes you cringe or not want to read?
