Very few journalists are financially independent like Marisa is. A lot more could be but it takes a shitload of courage on the reporting side and a shitload of shameless promotion on the marketing side and not many are up for the task.

We must back the ones who are with cash.

Anil Dash making a strong case for video creators to work on independence from TikTok and other big platforms. The algorithm is fragile. It might help you today, but tomorrow you’ve lost everything without a direct connection to your audience.

You know what’s funny? I’m not convinced web design matters that much. I was a web and app designer for tech companies in LA and SF for 10+ yrs. I’ve tested thousands of things. Unless you really blow us away with something fresh, as long as your site is readable and has big buttons, you’re good

I got to the airport super early bc im flying TAG airlines and their bag reqs are tight.

The guy at check in weighed my 1 allowed carry on and he was like take some stuff out it needs to be 10 lbs and you can carry the rest
