If you have opinions on this and are on the club's mailing list there was an e-mail sent out today surveying fans about attitudes towards their brand partners.

Neville said Arteta shoukd leave if he got Arsenal to 4th because there's nowhere to go after that because we can't compete with City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Utd.

Suddenly we're now supposed to get the pitchforks out for finishing 2nd. 🚮

Team to be proud of & miles away from when MA came in.

Watching Home Alone for the first time:

What's going on with Mac Allister? Tiredness?
lgambrose.bsky.social
Also he's just a huge threat in the box - great instincts and hard to defend, gets on the end of things. He came on on 75 today and ended the game with as many shots as Gyökeres.

Sorry, are you suggesting Isak isn't the most complete striker in the league? Of course Diaz might be missed, and TAA even moreso
lgambrose.bsky.social
Be boring to run away with it, right?
lgambrose.bsky.social
Obviously deals done with longer term in mind but even with the upheaval, I don't think last season's (very much deserved) champions can add the most complete striker on the league and Wirtz and be considered anything less than the team to beat.
lgambrose.bsky.social
I definitely think they need to play better. I also thought so for the first 2-3 months last season!

Arsenal weren't good enough to be champions two games ago. Now it'll be Liverpool's turn. It's all just stupid, unnecessary noise at the very start of a very long season.
lgambrose.bsky.social
The champions are a point off top with more than 80% of the season still to go. I'm sure some will try to reframe this as a transition season if they don't improve soon but make no mistake, everyone fairly had them as favourites before a ball was kicked and there is an absurdly long way to go.

Never turn a Liverpool game off before the final whistle.

Admire the ambition - this back four is bold - but incredibly early for Slot to make those changes. There's still ages left!
lgambrose.bsky.social
Feel like this is something that gets said a lot but actual goalkeepers always say you can reach further (and are therefore taught to go with) the top hand. Remember seeing Seaman talk about it years ago.

When fully fit, I think Ødegaard is Arsenal's most important player. He's still not played an unbroken half of Premier League football since the opening weekend of the season.
lgambrose.bsky.social
Would be surprised, just hasn't shown much inclination to play Trossard there for a long time
lgambrose.bsky.social
I didn't think Arteta had the Ødegaard-Eze midfield in him from the start of a game, especially not when things have been going well. Very pleasant surprise!
lgambrose.bsky.social
Obviously expect him to improve enormously as the attack clicks and Slot finds a bit more stability at right-back, but say for whatever reason he doesn't ... how long do you think this form would have to go on before there are the first noises from people saying he should be dropped?
lgambrose.bsky.social
Yeah I'm not saying he's doing a good job at all, I just think banging on about the shape specifically is way too simplistic
lgambrose.bsky.social
We were so close to a beach ball goal repeat there.

I find the obsession (in terms of coverage, not Amorim's obsession) with this really dull. The same shape isn't a problem for Crystal Palace.

Ruben Amorim: When I look at the matches we lost, I don't think we lost because of the system. That's my opinion.
