UK1940s radio just played Burl Ives ("Frog Went a Courtin'"). When I was five or six, I wanted to be Burl Ives. Later, when I was about 18, I thought perhaps I'd settle for being Pete Seeger. Instead, I got to be a physical chemist.

Are there any grammar nerds still here? If so, please tell me when _not_ using a possessive before a gerund became acceptable. I spend way too much time yelling at the TV these days, correcting people's grammar ignorance.
