Builder on Dartmoor. Athiest. Left Wing. Trying to maintain morale whilst the world is destroyed around us….
I’ve always been disappointed with the communication side of the Met Office. They are a respected organisation but fail on every level to get any messages across.

Typical of the elite. No idea that a family might have a change in circumstances that would reduce their income without having an unearned financial backup.

Yep, they should have thought of that back in 1971 when they moved there. But back then you’d be visited by a Dr, there were buses and 5 shops. Fortunately there is still a shop.

Absolutely, I’m worried about my parents ability to drive, both in their 80’s. There is no alternative other than becoming isolated.

Absolutely blind to her part in the governments that unravelled our country for 13 years. Amazing.

This is a gift for Labour, even the Tories would struggle to argue against it. The opportunity should be seized.

I’m not sure. The wall of blackness approaching was very apocalyptic. I wasn’t expecting it to be like that. I would definitely recommend a cloudy total eclipse. You do need to be high up with a far reaching view looking towards its approach.

It’s the laugh at the end that shatters your already strained teeth.

I watched the eclipse in 1999 from Dartmoor looking towards Cornwall. Cloudy.
The wall of darkness followed by a wall of light moving towards us and the silence of the birds was amazing. It was a different perspective to looking upwards.

We could do with a bit of this on Dartmoor.

Definitely they should massively up the tax on SUV’s.

It’s such an obvious set of extenuating circumstances that would allow this turn around I can’t believe they’re not wholeheartedly embracing it.

Spot on!

On our building site 2 out of 6 of us no longer fly. The message is slowly getting through but these persistent flyers really mess up the efforts and sacrifices some of us make. They should be heavily taxed.

There was a lot around Haytor last week. No concern for invertebrates, frogs, lizards, newts, toads etc. A tradition carried out by the thoughtless. It should be banned.
