TBC, I don’t watch his content; I have no opinion on his motivations because I don’t know them or particularly care. I just think that it’s odd to suggest that we know he doesn’t care for money because he could have more of it but doesn’t need to.

I’m not calling Hasan a grifter; I don’t know enough about him to call him that. I just think that any conversation about parasocial observations of his integrity rely on the fact that he is plenty successful without sacrificing much material comfort.

I never said that it’s a bad thing that he’s comfortable. I just don’t think it makes sense to point to the lack of ads as some proof of virtue. Dude does absolutely fine without them, and it gives him cred. It’s neither a good nor bad thing.

I think it’s perfectly productive to bring up the fact that he lives more than comfortably based on the income he makes while maintaining his integrity. Not running ads can be a brand choice more than some generosity of spirit. And that’s fine. He needs to make money somehow.

to be clear, if I personally,were an American voting in a swing state, I would have voted for Harris. I was hoping she’d win. But I can’t pretend I don’t understand people with friends and family killed by American bombs under policies Harris vowed to continue who said it was unconscionable to do so

I don’t think it’s true that “you aren’t trying to have an argument” you started this thread by responding to contention by calling it stupid. I think if you can’t justify that claim, that demonstrates it’s a faulty claim.

I would say “the deaths of thousands of children from American bombs in Gaza is something the people who make and sell those bombs should care about” isn’t something I’d call an “esoteric view”
