I sent them a doodle of a round woman and said "put her in the background" and I sent some old clippings from the SEARS catalog and said "Dress the main girl like this." (As said story takes place in the late 80s/early 90s)

Was very happy with the result.

Hm. It appears all my posts from the erstwhile twitter site have been deleted. Not a big loss as I never planned on logging in again, but sad to see something I once used fairly prolifically (moreso under my realname, which is also wiped) just evaporate.

From the introduction to BEYOND OURSELVES, I pin down exactly who I am as a writer:
The great anxiety of my life is to only be one thing. My writing about transformations does not come from a dislike of what I am or appear to be, but out of a lament that I might only get to be one thing in my life. That I can’t try on different lives and selves the same way one samples clothes. That’s a little melodramatic – nobody is truly stuck. You can change your job, your career, your relationship if you have cause to do so. But my problem is, you’re only one thing at a time: if you’re here, you’re not there. If you’re male, you’re not female, if you’re married, you’re not single, if you’re old you’re not young. My writing is my way to try to get around this and sample all the lives I am not living. I write about it, and I also write as it.

I reached a hand up my top and slightly felt my fingertips come into contact with her – my – breast, the flesh soft and pliable and sensitive. “Interesting,” was all I could say, non-disapprovingly. Whatever was happening here, I didn’t hate it.

The great thing about following everyone's journey here is that I never know where something is going to go, but I did *not* foresee you and John becoming reconnected like this again. There's going to be a lot for you to navigate and manage with John in Dakota's body, and it seems like John knows that in more than one way – wishing that he and Mary had been so lucky to end up as Dakota and Dustin, his eyes scanning you, his recognition of the Inn's magic as intoxicating, the smirk when he noticed you watching him leave. I'm fascinated by TG reincarnations and am keen to do another story on that topic. Here are some anecdotes I grabbed from a scrollbait article years ago...
I was watching an old video of a jazz drummer playing a solo. No idea who it was, but he was really good. My daughter, probably age three, was looking over my shoulder for a minute before she said "I used to play the drums like that when I was a man." "When our son was maybe 3 or 4, he described his life as a ballerina on stage -- from the lights to the music, to the applause. His next words chilled ne to the bone: ' I was at a party on a boat, and I fell into the water, then POOF I was here'." When my then 2½ ye old daughter heard a loud boom, then jumped into a small low spot in our yard and telled "Foxhole!" with a terrified look on her face. She had never seen any movies about wars or anythong. Definitely had me curious.

I was worried ebook sales were bottoming out after a slow April, but May suddenly became my biggest month on Amzn yet this year. (Haven't factored in my D2D sales yet.)

Very encouraging as I begin to ramp up production on future stories!
