The US pledged three things when Ukraine gave up its nukes.
1. Respect Ukraine’s independence and borders.
2. Never use coercion against Ukraine.
3. Respond if someone else violates those borders.
If the US breaks old guarantees for russia, why would Ukraine trust new ones?
