There is too much government involved in the planning and building of housing. It can take years to get a building permit to develop a piece of property. On top of that the local municipality will make you fork out tens of thousands of dollars for other improvements just to build

You’ve never dealt with the building department. They are the problem between that and zoning. If they would deregulate building, people would build way more houses and then the price would come down.
