many early films are lost, a lot of the ones that are left don't conform to our tastes nowadays - still, it's heartbreaking that most female directors (and actors) of the time have largely been forgotten

absolutely iconic moment!! I am very partial to Arsenic and Old Lace where he makes a bunch of faces and there's an intense noir/horror plot for barely any reason, it's great

Mariana Da Cruz is the leader of the Swiss-Brazilian band DA CRUZ, which makes dancable, energetic songs that make me wish I knew Portugese. Joyful but with an angry undertone, the songs are incredibly catchy.
