In Surah Mulk, God tells us that if we look at the creation and stare for a while we will be left mesmerised.

When we truly reflect it is mesmerising. Grateful for these few weeks where I've had the time to reflect and contemplate in beautiful Bangladesh.

Praying that their souls are at peace.

Their story broke a million hearts & more. We will not forget them.

May the ones who murdered them, who were complicit in their murder & the ones who supported their murders & the ones who remained silent while their people were murdered never find peace.

Are you even a bookish toddler mum if you don't recite the Bear Hunt on every park walk or hike?

Been trying to share this on IG for ages now but it's not allowing me to! 😖

Keep Telling of Gaza is filled with powerful poems which document the Genocide and reminds us that we must not be silent.

Aid agencies say everyday 10 children lose one or both legs in Gaza.

Never mind the deaths. This alone would be major worldwide headlines if it was happening anywhere else in the world.

A beautiful wintry morning in Brum today. I love a snowy sunrise too 😍

This is why they can't be broken. The Palestinian people have a thirst for life and a thirst for education that is unmatched. Librarians and Booksellers in Gaza. Photo by Amal Habib.

Hi @jay.bsky.team I don't want to be the negative person on your feed. But as you have started my experience of bluesky in a positive way, I would kindly ask you to look into @mommunism.bsky.social query about the mass deletion of Palestinian accounts. Thank you.

The point of moving here was to keep in touch with people. Content will be the same.

I like to use my platform -however small it is- to discuss pressing issues. Whether that's about great children's literature and new books that should be read, the work of libraries, Islamophobia or Genocide.

So it would seem that blue-sky isn't a welcome place for Palestinian accounts.

Let me say it loud and clear, if you think I've moved over to blue-sky and won't be advocating for Palestine, then you are hugely mistaken.

Israel has just passed laws allowing *CHILDREN* under the age of 14 to be JAILED.

Currently 270 children are held in Israeli detention, a violation of international law.

The incarceration of Palestinian children by the Israeli occupation is well documented.
We MUST NOT stay silent on this.

My first #KidsLitRecommendation on here is by Michael Rosen and Ed Vere. I enjoyed it the first time round. But reading it to N while she's been at home sick reminded me that poetry is meant to be performed and MR poems are just so easy to perform, you hear his voice and expressions in every word.

Saw this article & thought it would be about Gaza. Yes it's really awful that Ukrainian parents had to write their children's names on their body. But in Gaza the children have been found DEAD (killed!) with their names on their arms.
I can't forget Noor.

Sometimes you can just be yourself. Speak up for what you believe in. Have your opinions on various topics. But people (friends even)will find fault with you.

I don't even think it's jealousy. Some people will just decide they simply don't like you.

& that's okay! Not everyone needs to like you!
