But I REALLY like the portrayal of how Shane kind of shuts down and doesn’t know how to verbalize when feeling really strong emotions and that’s especially obvious in the last couple of episodes

I think Connor Storrie as Ilya is giving a kind of more obvious (but not less nuanced!) performance because the accent work is so notable and he’s playing a charismatic but kind of dickish character
