Librarian. Cat mom.
Wow! The world is on fire! I'm tuning in this morning to hear Clarivate/ProQuest try to justify their decision to go to an all-subscription model.

Just remember, breathe, take a drink of water, and look for the little bits of good in your day.

I am at a loss. I'm working on a Sunday because someone (who probably earns at least 3x my salary) can't be bothered to add files to a shared folder. They have had over 6 months to do this, and now that the thing is due tomorrow, it's my job to fix it and I DON'T HAVE ACCESS.

Good morning lovelies!

A few things to note:
1. Whatever that thing is you've been putting off, to day is the day!
2. I believe in you!
3. It's time to wash your emotional support water bottle.
4. Don't forget to hydrate.
5. Make sure you put a solid food in your tummy.

Love,
Librarymom

No patron, the link to the article isn't broken. If you look at the coverage date for the Journal, you'll see that the publisher has set a 12-month embargo. So that article you want from 6 months ago will not be available in our database for at least 6 more months.
K. Thanks.

How do books in an academic library collection go through 3 inventories without anyone noticing that they have no barcode and this are not actually catalogued? This is going to be a tomorrow problem.

Sunday librarians, what are some of your favorite reference questions to get and why?

My dearest librarians,

Have you had enough water today? Go have a drink.

Have you eaten anything? Grab a healthy snack.

How long has it been since you've stood up and moved around or sat down for a rest? Take a 10 minute break.

Love,
Your LibraryMom

Oof, I fell down the metadata rabbit hole!
I was just going to add program abbrevs to guides for LTI purposes, then realized the schema organizing guides makes no sense, and have ended up turning our short how-to/informational guides into FAQs. These FAQs need metadata too...

I'm sure there's a *Very Good Reason* that some of the periodicals are shelved in the general collection and not with all the other serials.

*If someone can tell me this reason, maybe my eye will stop twitching.

Some days are more productive than others. Today, I would like to go home and take a nap. I can only focus for short spans and that is hindering my progress getting through this data lookup and entry.

Dear Sales Representatives, please start double-checking names in the cold-contact emails you send out to potential customers. Spelling my name wrong in your greeting is a quick way to tell me you don't really care and just want my library's money.
