Librarian and artist. Pretty great at the first. Marginally okay at the second.
I have an abandoned Etsy store that I’ve never promoted out of fear SURPRISINGLY THAT DOES NOT WORK let me buy the Trader Joe’s soft cheeses by purchasing a shirt. They’re okay. The money goes directly to one specific librarian so you’re supporting the community of me.

I had a self imposed deadline of new year’s for these illustrations and uh, not yet complete. Flush with rough drafts though.

Haven’t done much on the printmaking front but to be fair I’m little and tired.

Trying to carve backwards words into a 4x6” block was unsuccessful but I tried. I deserve a thousand dollars just for pure hope. And also because the 9x12” block is so much more expensive.

It took me since July to finish the first round of illustrations but they’re done! Extremely rough but done! Now I have to make them look rougher but in a good way, I guess. Not a delicate carver. It’s mostly intentional.

Eagerly awaiting a wave of rejection letters.

Get writing and publishing guide book from library. Ignore 50% of the advice because no offense but I’m different. Can’t fail.

Oh I got a notice someone bought something from me. Oh it was my mom.

Y’guys, I took pictures today, it’s not a completion of a project but it’s a first step I’ve been avoiding. Had to go outside, it was terrible. Pas bon all around.

My body isn’t exactly cooperating with my to-do list, like hey I feel of death but also money is on the line. Get creative. Sleep later. Coffee seems like a plan but stay away or regret everything.

Helluva time to get off depression meds.

Update: my book illustrations are progressing nicely. I’m managing to do it at a scheduled time each week without a tantrum. Like a quarter done? I can’t math on the fly. It’s happening is the point.

Tiny update: I did manage a drawing for my big project so I’m now like 4% of the way to completing it. And six months overdue. Progress!

Have been doing zero creative work due to being too stressed about money. Rather have sleep. This is getting me nowhere.

I have twenty plus illustrations to do. Originally planned and scheduled it out to be manageable. That was January Nat. That person’s unstable.

Absolutely miserable at a functional human body, thank you.

Art got rejected but I did get invited to the party. The introvert’s ideal conclusion.

Got a little too children’s hospital color theory on a couple canvases today.

Small business has me utilizing USPS on the regular. I will always support the postal workers no matter what is thrown at them. It’s a service, and a great one.

Finally finished a painting after a year maybe? Only because I was so sick of it I needed it out of the office. It’s trash but it’s done.

The one time I pre-interviewed for a noaa job it was only a part time gig so I couldn’t afford to take it. Just in case someone out there thought they’ve been rolling in the dough all these years, they couldn’t even pay for a full time librarian. And we are notoriously low wage positions.

Nothing to promote other than the usual Please sign up for your local library card, even if you don’t plan on using it (though you should)! They get funding on those numbers. Plus there’s lots of free resources beyond books.
