It kind of feels the spin-off was the show Disney actually wanted, and they had to invest in main show to get it!

From interviews with Karl Kesel, the original plan was they where the FF from 616 (at a time during John Byrne's run when the team was in negative zone).

However after all the creative changes etc. it was changed into them being duplicates created by the Watcher.

I remember Dr Strange appearing, and then the creative team changed and the plot threads where dropped in preparation for the end of the 2099 line (and merger into a single title)

Enjoyed this run, especially at the start. 😀

Defiant definitely had some great ideas - with a strong creative team, and not necessarily going down the traditional superhero route (although at same time not alienating that audience). Wish they'd lasted longer, or at least the initial runs completed before they closed their doors.

I think you can get the two issues that where released (as Youngblood Genesis, with someone else scripting Busiek's plots, published by Arcade Comics) fairly cheaply on eBay.

Two issues of this did get released in the mid-2000s as part of Arcade Comics - Youngblood Genesis - basically using Busiek's plots with someone else scripting.

(There was some controversy at time because Busiek's plots where very basic, and Liefeld was heavily promoting his involvement).

An amazing artist, one of my favourites!

An interesting idea... and shows that Marvel Knights was great, but didn't always get it right!

Finally decided to stop watching Classic Emmerdale on ITV3 - recordings of episodes where building up, as I was watching them more slowly took that as a sign and deleted them last weekend.

Started at 1996 in 2020, ended with 2007 in 2025, so a good run, although can see changes in the show, etc.

Been watching this, and was going to be my something for weekend choice too (along with fourth series of FBI) - didn't realise it was adapted from books.

Enjoying so far, even if fall into some detective drama cliches (although advertising for series made it look like they wouldn't get along more).

I kind of have mixed feelings about LinkedIn... a lot of my work comes from there... but at same time, it's LinkedIn!

Let me guess... this is on LinkedIn?

Seen a few of these posts recently, plus on Facebook (including from people who really should know better!)

Indeed - will share photos when I get home!! 😀

Always wish Karl Kesel had opportunity to do a longer Fantastic Four run (and enjoyed the start of the Fantastic Four 2099 series he wrote before it all changed!) - rather than the occassional issue between creative teams!

But did the Eastenders cliffhanger music play the moment the car crashed? ;)

I've thought this of most of the general health/mindset groups. Often Googling the names of the people behind them can be very interesting reading...

Liked that this was a crossover that had actual impact (rather than having to keep the status quo from beginning to end), even if it did make reprinting difficult!

Did like the original Stormwatch though.

Started watching Cooper & Fry on channel 5. Fun to watch, even if it falls into usual cop show clichés (e.g. two officers who don't get along).

Also started on fourth series of main FBI show. 😀
