"Aging in place" is a delusion unless you are wealthy. You'll need to renovate the house to make it elder safe (remodeling bathrooms, installing grab bars, chair lifts, disability-friendly storage, etc). If you want a live-in caregiver, you will need to provide them with a room/bathroom.
