If I'm being honest... I'm not just sure what I'm doing here, but, here I am, nontheless.
The elongated, glowing wavelengths at the end of a day are a truly remarkable, magical phenomenon.

Did not expect to see Pinnacle Point today!

Very pleasant surprise!

Thank you!

I used to very much enjoy hiking Tucquan Glen, & then moving up to the point.

Always made for a fun day.

Your characterization, & prose are so succint it's almost concerning...

"Don't let it bring you down...
It's only castles burning.
Find someone who's turning,
And you will come around."

Great shot! Looks like a happy, well-fed bird!

I would've thought your yellow House Finch was some kind of Warbler, probably.

Stunning photo, & a stunning bird.

Grew up in Pennsylvania & never saw them until I got here, & enjoy & appreciate their presence everyday, all year!

Hoping to see the Purple Finch, & a lot of the "my" HFs are a deeper, almost raspberry color, but I don't think the PF is here.

Apparently PF female has distinguishing wht eyebrow.

I'm in Northwest Arkansas...

Kind of southwest adjacent, I suppose.

I kind of suspect it was a random mutation w/i the population, & maybe reproduced, but apparently the House Finch was originally a western bird (w a small group released in NYC in the 1940s?) & they've just made it everywhere.

House Finches are the most represented birds at my feeding area... (the House Sparrows are catching up.)

This isn't a great picture, but periodically I see *Creamsicle* colored House Finches!

It's fun when *watching* really pays off!

Apparently the way they absorb nutrients impacts color...?

The Yin/Yang almost looks like two birds.

Ollie's doing his job of keeping things real!

That's a good kitty.

Very endearing.

I like Turkey Vultures, too.

Walking yesterday I saw a large troupe of Black Vultures sitting in close proximity to one another sunning themselves in trees, & on the ground along a creek, cornering a dead deer.

90~ish.

There wasn't *one* Turkey Vulture.

Didn't realize they were so exclusive.

I must be an Apanthropist... cool.

The years of study have paid off! 😉

How does it impact the serious philosopher?

And/or the process of philosophizing, idea generation, communication, & connection?

I'm curious, when I younger I was a gigging *amateur* musician, & the general thinking amongst me & my friends was a drink or two released the inhibitions, & helped get us into the mood, spirit, & flow.

However, at a certain point, it really impeded the physical process of actually playing well...

I don't have a picture of it, but Eleanor, here, is also endlessly fascinated by shadows on walls.

Today's another day.

I don't drink any more, but thinking back on it... I'm not sure there was ever a time I drank whiskey that I didn't end up thinking the next day that I'd drank too much.

It seems to be the nature of the beast.

I have a little hanging feeder with two little dishes that I fill with mealworms, & the Tufted Titmouse will fly in, land, grab one mealworm, sit upright proudly, then fly off! Pretty adorable.
