the hughes brothers -> bröderna hughes. would look great on a nice set of ikea shelves
a digital drawing that recreates the layout of the photo from the other picture in this post (a shelf in ikea), but replaces the small wooden figurines with the hughes brothers. from left to right: luke, standing up with one gloved hand propped on his hockey stick, with the smiling :D face from the original figurines. quinn, sat down with his knees folded up to his chest and his stick laid down behind him, with the straight :| face from the original figurines. jack, falling from the front of the shelf with his arms out to either side of him, with the shocked :o face from the original figurines. they also all have black stick-like legs as a nod to the original, though they are wearing skates. a label in the background, riffing off of the original label, reads: ‘decoration figures, set of 3. BRÖDERNA HUGHES. bröderna hughes are 3 playful brothers with simple and graphic facial expressions that show their different personalities.’ The brothers are simply coloured, with jack and luke in their red and black devils gear, and quinn in his green and blue canucks gear. much of the shading in the piece is represented by hatching rather than colouring, but some of the darker parts of the background are a pale grey-blue to distinguish from the off-white shelf. a quote tweet of an image. the quote tweet from @hestiahearts reads ‘this is the hughes brothers to me.’ the image itself contains the caption ‘me and my gang if you even gaf’ and shows a shelf in an ikea store with three simple wooden figurines named ‘DVÄRGTALL.’ the figurines have different simple, rounded shapes, each with 3 black stick legs to support them. they are decorated simply with some black stripes, rosy pink circle cheeks, and simple black dots and lines for faces. they descend in height from left to right. a tag attached to the leftmost one reads the same as that in the drawing, though ‘brothers’ is replaced with ‘friends’ and of course the name is different. they are priced at $19 (this seemed too cheap for the hughes brothers so was not included in the art)
