A range of habitats means a range of coral for these crabs to embody. And strength in numbers remains true in this new frontier. But intelligence enough to amass and shape themselves as humanoid to defend against or beguile man, that goes above and beyond.

A range of habitats means a range of coral for these crabs to embody. And strength in numbers remains true in this new frontier. But intelligence enough to amass and shape themselves as humanoid to defend against or beguile man, that goes above and beyond.
Even a single bite can spell doom in these waters, especially from the predators equipped with such teeth and mandibles built to cling into fleeing prey, not to be pulled off without relinquishing chunks of one's own flesh in the process.

There is no more daunting a trial of resolve than what Evolution had set when this boar came to be; a bladed marauder with fury for anything that moves, hiding the sweetest meat when slow roasted over coals. It is a feast befitting one brave enough to tussle with this ruffian.

Armored on all sides, this lumbering tank hides one last surprise. Through a mixture of volatile bile and chemicals from the plants and insects it subsists upon, it spews a caustic mélange sure to deter any aggressor its shell fails to tire.

While some beasts are privileged with intelligence enough to consider mankind ally or friend, there are some endowed with the capacity for schadenfreude and the appetite for heartless malice without any practical benefit. In a way, doesn't that make them far more human?

I was playing around with various effects more than anything, really. The hatching pen I found is quite interesting 🤔
