If you're wandering around our museum, look up when you're at the front of the lower hall - you'll see the remains of the fuel control cabin, built when this part of the museum was new in 1935. It was used to monitor how much fuel each bus took from the pumps below. An odd working environment!

Gaythorn gas works from Albion Rd, 1960s - the site is now occupied by Sainsburys, the Indian Tiffin Room, Hotel Innside, and the Home arts complex etc. The Refuge Assurance tower is just visible in the far distance.

Love watching these two in these clips. My lovely late mum was a fan of Corrie in the 60's/70's and I have a faint memory of the colour version (70's?) of Minnie and Ena.
Superb acting brilliant writing.
Coronation Street - written by John Finch (17th June 1964). Ena and Minnie have a difference of opinion.
