getting a cd from a cousin that was loaded with about a thousand roms and emulators for a number of consoles in my childhood was so important to how I see games. incredibly fun to just boot up games because they have a neat title and see what their deal is, and if it's not fun try another one

for a game based around a multiplayer experience i wish that it was easy to even play multiplayer! the original requiring every player to have a gameboy and link cable was such a high bar of entry that it was essentially impossible even if i had interested people i could play with.

wow this was incredible! just finished watching it after you posted this yesterday. american vandal was great and glad that they did end up getting to do something else(flew completely under my radar) although sad to see that it ended up not panning out in the long run.

I moved to metro areas as soon as I was able to away from my rural hometown and nothing will ever take me back there or places like it outside of occasional short visits once every few years. having to occasionally do farmwork inspired me to choose a path such that i'd never have to do it again.

remembering in 2022 a coworker telling me how cool it was that he could generate marvel/star wars crossover fanfics (although not in those terms). when I said 'I wonder if they trained on like ao3 or similar since crossover fic is everywhere online' he had no idea what I was talking about.

starting the game and meeting the main character: "no one told me there would be yuri in this game" a few hours later meeting rita and watching her slowly develop a crush on estelle: "no one told me there would be yuri in this game"

I grew up in kane, I think this is an old ice cream place? That top was molded to sort of look like ice. can't remember the name of it though, can ask someone tomorrow who might remember.
