@crunchyroll.com I've noticed that a bunch of onscreen text isn't being translated anymore and that really sucks. I'm assuming that there is story related information there that my friends and I are totally missing.

I feel like I've been Wiley E. Coyote-ing myself into walls while trying to get info on the business side of anime and streaming in the US. I know that there is going to be things I simply can't get answers to due to contracts and NDAs, but I'd love to find the right person to ask my questions.

I'm watching Pacific Rim while working from home and, fuck, this movie still hits me right in my feels. It is beautiful. The special effects and CGI still hold up. The soundtrack hits in all the right ways. I fucking love it so much & it is one of my favorite movies. #PacificRim

Why, in 2025, do we still have media with poorly balanced audio? Why do we have movies where I have to crank the audio to hear dialog & then blow my ears out when music or action scenes start? Why are major studios struggling with this?

There is so much of The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl that I found delightful & enjoyed. The last episode of the season frustrated me because I feel like Sophia never really had agency or a character arc that felt satisfying. It's cute & fun overall but that last episode was disappointing in comparison.

Overwatch 2 truly needs to figure out its rotation when a group queues for all roles. I can play with 4 friends. We can all queue for all roles. One of us will get stuck in Tank Hell & another will be in Healer Hell while the other 3 get to rotate between dps and healer. What the actual shit?

If you haven't ready The Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman, I highly recommend it. I'm halfway through & I have dozens of sticky tabs in for pieces of writing that I fell in love with. I'm reading it before The Blacktongue Thief & I can't wait to get to it when I'm done with this.

If I can't find the answers from a reputable website, I'm more than willing to hunt them down the hard way, create a blog, and put them up there myself. I can't be the only one that remembers being told not to be afraid to ask questions since you aren't the only one with questions.

I think it would be really neat if on @crunchyroll.com you could filter anime by what languages they were dubbed in so if you are looking for a specific language, you don't get a list of every anime that is dubbed in any language.

Few things are as frustrating as trying to find answers to questions that require making contact with a specific person. I feel like a goober sending messages to people that might be connected & trying to hit that sweet spot between introduction, explaining what you need & sending a wall of text.

Weird thing that I noticed on Crunchyroll. When watching anime subtitled in English or watching it just dubbed in English, signs/text screens are translated to English as well. However, when watching an English dub with English CC on, signs/text screens are NOT translated and I can't figure out why

I ended up enjoying Solo Leveling ReAwakening & I'm glad that I went to see it with my friend in a theater. I will say we were both unaware, & a little disappointed, that a little more than the first half of the movie was a recap/summary of season one followed by the 1st two episodes of season 2.

One of my favorite things to come out of 2024 is something that is a hold over from quarantine times: communal watching of movies/shows/anime via discord. I love working through our lists and finding new gems. I also love taking moments to pause and lovingly rib the decisions of characters.
