Screenwriter/director. I talk about movies way too much. She/her.

Alright, very belated, but it’s finally time.

Extremely slight and doesn’t really come together…but I dunno, I had fun. Laughed a bunch. Doesn’t totally know what it’s trying to do outside of the general vibes and broad critiques, but the looser vibe is entertaining and light in the right ways. More successful than DAD, but still not all there.

Francis Lawrence ranked updated (I’m so in the bag for Lawrence, it’s not funny…)

There is so many ways this could feel rote from the director of four fifths of the Hunger Games, but it’s maybe the perfect escalation for Lawrence. Just astonishing confidence and boldly human. That Mollner screenplay is phenomenal.
I really hated that I missed this in cinemas. So now finally watching

Thank god for Boxing Day sales helping me get through a few more blind spots!

Handsomely crafted, not not compelling, but extremely dry in a way that thinks its profound and meditative, but really holds very little. Fiennes is great.
I actually had a ticket for this ages ago, but I bailed on going because I was worn out. Time to fix that up.

Hmmm…I think not…
What a cast for something that’s gone so under the radar. Continuing catch ups!

I don’t think I can overstate how much this is legitimately my everyday waking nightmare embodied.
Catch up week. Gonna try and get through as many blind spots and curios as I can!

Well I’m back in Melbourne.

I didn’t realise how a year of living alone can completely change the tolerance you have for being around people.

I’m very peopled out and looking forward to not seeing anyone until work on Monday.

Okay, so my Dad actually went back and played some more tonight alone, so…promising!

He was deeply confused by the controls though, but that’s what happens when you’re in your 60s and haven’t really played games on PC for at least 20 years if ever.
After the concert, my dad said he wanted to give Death Stranding a try, so I bought it for him

I’m sitting in the lounge room watching Superman, but I can hear Low Roar’s Bones coming from the office, so I know Dad is currently delivering the President’s body to the incinerator. And if that isn’t an indicator of how powerful Kojima’s use of soundtrack is, then I don’t know what is.

There was a triumphant music cue on tonight’s Royal Variety Show, and it took me a good minute of humming the rest of the theme to go “oh it’s Zimmer’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 theme!”, continuing my argument that, for all of that movie’s faults, the score is one of Zimmer’s best.

You might wonder how supportive my parents are with the whole trans thing, well they got me and my sister the same Wicked pjs this year.

It’s so wild that the UK is so transphobic given what a history of drag in mainstream art there is there.

Though, on second thought, that might also be the source of it…

Coming out more this year (my family all knew last Christmas) means I’m now part of the tradition of Pandora charms for Christmas. Obviously Christmas Groot would be the way to go.

Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and all that jazz! Hope everyone has a wonderful day however you might be spending it!

I just saw an AI generated Bunnings ad and I literally just exclaimed “what the fuck”.

The terrible, gross irony of a hardware store, literally the definition of a store for handmade and DIY of both novice and professionals, using AI to make an ad.

Fuck. Off.

Oh no! A visual, design minded filmmaker made creative design decisions. Call the cops! This isn’t allowed!

It’s Christmas Eve, so what is my dad doing? Well, he’s mowed the lawns, trimmed the hedges and now he (we) are going to the tip.

And I wonder where my neurodivergence comes from…
