The problem with "AI" (i.e. Large Language Models) is not that is has no uses, but that
a) companies push it for functions it is not suitable for
b) companies use it to replace work humans love doing
c) it generally shifts power away from workers
d) it negatively impacts people's critical capacities

Bluesky's near-consensus that AI doesn't work and won't be a technology that has major knock-on effects on society is…not grounded in reality. No mater how loudly and repetitively people say it.
I’m just a tech critic, standing in front of other tech critics, asking them to please stop insisting that the AI hype bubble is totally gonna collapse any minute now.
