I think this could be a pretty decently workable system with some way of indicating checked syllables (maybe abrupt rise then fall in amplitude and in pitch down to target tone, and shorter overall duration kinda like some Otomanguean ballistic syllables?) and at least one onset distinction

I was on the first car to leave the station and it was so funny how you could just feel the initial optimism (excited chatting, literal band playing) evaporating as soon as we got out onto street level and you could see the cars zooming past you and the train having to stop at every traffic light

I mean no disrespect to the person or the rest of his work when I say this but his Proto-IE-Tsimshianic is one of the goofiest proto-language reconstructions I've ever read. Look at these correspondences dawg, this was published in 2017!!! The actual cognate sets are... worse
