-- that isn't constructive or chitchat/fun about my favorite topics. it's way more comfortable that way and it lets me close the tab when i'm done without being frustrated.

i totes agree though social media is always eventually going to boil down to trying to act erratic, slam dunk people and get in fights because of the subconcious desire for impressions etc.

recently, i've moved towards avoiding any conversation on public social media --

yah i know forums were just as bad, i just liked the topic & subforum separation, and forum signatures were so much fun! there's features and things i miss -- it's all streamlined now

single-page social media like twitter/bsky is a big mix of things so you don't get that pseudo-separation
