Walking is the cornerstone of my writing routine. I get up, stumble straight out of the door with Tanwen the Welsh Collie and ignore all media until I've returned and put pen to paper. Whether that be editing notes, plot ideas or even actual drafting the word count is almost guaranteed to soar.

Me doing nothing, before I understood what my brain needed was to be working on 12 things at once, and eventually one would out-compete the others.
