Make an ice slurry (ice in a cup with a bit of water), put the stem of the thermometer against an ice cube & see if it hits 32F. If it doesn’t, there is a knob on the manual dial thermometers to adjust. For digital thermometers, throw them out if it is off by more than 2 degrees 😝
