In my recent post, I reflect on what’s really happening to U.S. jobs in the age of AI.
The Excuse and The Paradox of AI Mass Layoffs
They’re firing tens of thousands and pointing to AI as the reason, maybe that’s just a convenient excuse. But here’s the problem: if they keep laying off people, who’s going to buy their products?

The data centre boom is a black hole gravity well sucking resources away from the monetary, physical and human infrastructure of decarbonisation. If you care about 'more tech' this won't bother you. I care about climate outcomes, and this is really bad.

This is the most terrible ad of the year!
#AI
Most people and companies have not realized it yet, but there is a reason why AI-generated ads are widely hated.

Hint: it has nothing to do with the surrealism or the glitches.

I wrote about it today:

It’s not coincidental that one of the first #AI replacements targets an industry 📽️ where women already face a 68% pay gap and systemic bias.

Companies are blaming artificial intelligence for mass layoffs but research suggests technology is just a convenient excuse for the old cost-cutting game.
Whatever this is, it is a “strategy” that threatens to eliminate the very customers these companies depend on.

Let’s be honest, large corporations have gone through regular workforce cuts for decades. The difference now is they can rebrand old-school cost cutting as AI transformation.
If every big player is firing workers, who is supposed to have the stable income to buy their products and subscriptions?

AI chatbots are becoming the new front door to the internet, the layer between you and everything you search, buy, read, or decide.

And whoever controls that layer controls:

what information you see first

which products get recommended

which sources get amplified

how your decisions are shaped
