Because he absolutely loves TEI specifically and absolutely not because he put a call out for any old pod to have him on, we’re delighted to be podcasting with @lilywhitelab.bsky.social on Monday. Hit us up if you have any questions you’d like us to answer.

I am so excited for him to get a good run of games . Sums up my thoughts 👇👇👇
I think a lot of people can see what I see with Odobert but for those who don’t let me try explain…

I’m not saying he set the world alight tonight, far from it

And finally on Brennan Johnson

I’m sure I’ve said this before but Johnson is a ceiling raiser but arguably makes your floor worse

Regarding Mathys Tel

He clearly struggles with his back to goal, his link up is subpar and he doesn’t use his body well

The best thing about Spence coming into the team is the way he’s massively lifted our technical floor while not being vulnerable physically either

The way he combines with those around him is effortless and gets us out of so many sticky situations in our third.

Yeah Mathys Tel is not a 1v1 winger however he’s very capable at carrying especially when there’s open spaces

He has the ability to feint and drop shoulders to off balance defenders

You won’t find a better long term Son replacement than Mathys Tel

Although I think he ends up at 9, his ability to cut in from that left flank and find the far corner is brilliant

He is so good at getting separation in and around the box to get those shots off, just like Son was in his prime

We’re not getting Mathys Tel but boy if we do…

- Athleticism’s incredible, combined with core strength to shrug off physical defenders

- Technically top, for a player of his stature he’s at ease with the ball at his feet

- Calmness in front of goal, with consistent ball striking technique

We need to talk about Tyrese Hall. Tyrese got 19 minutes in the post-season friendly against Newcastle, and everyone that wasn't already aware of his immense talent suddenly took note. He was then included in the pre-season friendly squads. He got 45 minutes and was super-impressive vs Hearts.

Tyrese Hall should be playing men’s football by now and it’s really bad planning that he’s not

He’s one of the most naturally gifted players we’ve produced in years, an effortlessly good footballer who can play numerous midfield roles

Rewatching bits of the Leicester game and like I’ve been saying since the start of the season…

Bentancur is not a 6!

Djed is the best full-back in the squad right now.

I think objectively he’s a great player but I also think this is down to the fact we’ve run Porro and Udogie into the ground.

Regardless he has to start on Sunday.

- His comfortability and manipulation out of tight areas is top

What a win last night!!!!!! Reallyy hope and pray that Spurs can end a 16 year wait.
Find it hard to think of a better Spurs number 6 performance this season than what Bissouma showed last night.

So frustrating because at his best he’s so good, just lacks the consistency. Hopefully he can push on now because he was incredible.

The head this kid has on his shoulders is not normal.

Played every position under the sun this season to a consistently refined level, at just 18.

Mature, assured, composed and relaxed in every single action.

Physically blessed with a great engine, solid acceleration and fantastic balance.

For our winger positions:

I think long term squad building wise we should be looking for each side to have one of two profiles.

Flamingo, Tillman and Bakayoko are all players we should be looking at imo. All the exact profile of Young but ready to contribute now that we should target
Ryan Flamingo would be the perfect upgrade. 🦩🇳🇱

- Insanely comfortable in possession, can execute all types of passes
- Speed and comfortability allow him to carry and break lines
- Fast and strong to duel, especially strong in wide areas
- Could be used as a reserved FB/CB hybrid when needed

If we are to offload Dragusin in the next two windows due to…

- Him wanting a starting role
- Him not being suited to the system in possession

(FWIW I thought he was very good vs Chelsea)…

Don’t know if this is unpopular…

But Jonathan David would be an excellent signing to take minutes off Solanke… 🇨🇦👇

There is no manager out there available that has a higher ceiling than Ange.

There are managers who have a higher floor though. Who would bring stability and consistency.

So does Levy REALLY want to be the best team in the league or does he want to win a league cup and qualify for Europe?
December 8, 2024 at 7:16 PM
Overall these issues come down to the fact that the squad is not big enough and there are still some major profiles missing to make this work.

Injury crisis added to that has made it twice as bad.
