I don't think transphobic is necessarily (always) the right but I can't think of one for what I'm trying to say. Basically they're very cisgender-western-typical-ideas-of-gender-centric, y'know? (if you're actually interested in my thought process I'll continue below

Kevin looked at him in confusion, sure that Andrew knew they only had one dog. Andrew’s eyes were fixated ahead, and Kevin followed his line of sight to where it was directed—the thin band of metal wrapped around Jeremy’s throat.

He expected some sort of reaction from Kevin, but received nothing. He waited, and just as he was about to prod, Kevin asked his own question. “Do I have to?” “Do what you want.” Nathaniel said. Kevin frowned and looked at him, as if he was missing something. “What? I’m not a mind-reader.” Kevin stared for a moment longer, then dropped his gaze back to the counter. He tossed back the rest of his glass in a second and set it down a little too harshly. “Nothing.” He glanced up at Nathaniel just in time to see him raise an eyebrow. “It’s not important.”
