For real. III's approach to the player characters was so bizarre. I get this was early days RPGs and they were trying stuff. Not mad. I get it. But I found it pretty consistently confusing.

Ami is kind of a boring character most of the time but the Ami episodes have been incredibly heartful. The Rei episodes let Rei be something other than just a foil for Usagi. And then of course there's the Makoto episodes and the whole Rainy Day Man of it all.

I don't think I've hit an episode focused on Minako yet, but the episodes focused on characters other than Usagi have been really interesting.

I will say, I've also been reading through the Codename: Sailor V manga and it's absolutely fascinating how V seems to be the prototype for both Usagi and Minako. At this point in my anime viewing, Minako feels like she's just whatever is left after all the Usagi was removed from her.
