💖 Look at these incredible folks 💖

It was so good to see so many of the Limit Break committee down in Brighton last week for Develop Conference

We also need to give a special shoutout to one of our sponsors @yrstruly.uk for hosting an amazing party 🎉
Group of people smiling at the camera. Two people are the back are doing fun poses. They are outside a venue, you can see people behind a screen in the background A group of people sat in the sun on a picnic bench. There are too many people for the bench. They're all smiling at the camera, most have sunglasses on. There is a pull-up banner behind them with the Limit Break Mentorship logo on it.

💓 Be a safe space 💓

Make sure people know you are safe by signalling you are. For example, highlighting your pronouns even if they align with your gender, or using gender neutral terms (such as folks instead of guys)

📢 Speak up 📢

Speak up for LGBTQIA+ rights and call out discriminatory things you see or hear, even if there are no LGTBQIA+ people in the room (That you know of, they might just not be out!)

🎉 WE WON!

We could not be more thrilled to win the Outstanding Association Award at the MCV/DEVELOP Awards last night.

Limit Break would not be where it is today without the support of our incredible committee members, our sponsors, & the mentors & mentees who sign up for Limit Break every year 💖

We, @limitbreak.co.uk won tonight. This was my acceptance speech. This is my message to the games industry.

Thank you all 💖

Thank you to our committee of industry volunteers, our sponsors, and to all of the mentors and mentees that make limit break what it is today

This means a lot to us as this year has been extra difficult with the industry being on fire and all. It’s our 7th year running and I started this initiative because as a young gamedev I really wished it existed for me.

This is a message to the games industry at large, if you are benefitting from non-profits or any other organisations like ours to build up and nurture the talent that ultimately make the games and products that you profit from, then please don’t take us for granted. Every year we have thousands of applicants, because initiatives like ours are needed. Support us. Sponsor us. Put your money where your mouth is.

Thank you
