Pasha as well has had to deal with her own gender -- as a woman, a warrior, a mother -- someone brutal and cruel. She's cut off her breasts and keeps her hair long and she's got Butch Energy. Like she's not exactly gender conforming either!!

exceptionally gay! it's gay from page one when the washed up pirate queen, Pasha the storm is kidnapped, looks up at the hot mean nonbinary politician half her age holding her leash and says "hello gorgeous, come here often" it's like THAT gay

It's reductive to call Pasha and Atle "F/F" or a sapphic couple, but... definitions are fluid and silly and it's not the worst thing in the world if we allow sapphicism, lesbianism, and even female to be more approachable and applicable within gender nonconformist couples.

I was deeply inspired by @marthawells.com's Witch King when I thought of gender and it's relationship to politics. Thinking through pronouns, how one person conceives of a body vs. what a state thinks of that same body; what does it mean to have expectations within a body and how do we fight that.

The list states that Pasha is F/F which... IDK, isn't wrong, but it's not totally correct either? Atle is nonbinary by way of political agenderism?? Atle has been largely de-personed by their country/political situation, and part of that includes their gender.
