Too old to be pessimistic. Trying hard to promote kindness, tolerance, fairness, and logic. Montana is my home.

There is no "massive fraud". "Musk’s intense focus on Social Security appears central to his promise to slash $2 trillion from the federal budget. The agency distributes $1.6 trillion in benefit payments each year, making up about 20 percent of all federal spending."

Despite assurances, unvetted employees of a "Department" (DOGE) without Congressional authorization, have repeatedly breached their ostensible "read only" access in other government systems. Social Security recipients, beware!
New: I tried to make sense of the vast accusations of DOGE improperly/illegally accessing Americans' sensitive data. It includes potentially every taxpaying adult's info at Treasury and some 40 million student loan holders.
11 lawsuits challenging DOGE focus on data access and privacy
The lawsuits all claim that DOGE has violated the Privacy Act of 1974.

I'm not OK. Time to organize. They are coming for Social Security and Medicare next.
So Trump is stealing food from grannies, health care for poor people, and education from kids. All things Congress ORDERED the Executive Branch to deliver to constituents.

And the GOP is okay with that.

I too have struggled with the recent descent into madness by Zuckerburg et al. This thread expresses how to respond.
I have struggled with how to respond to Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook's descent into toxic masculinity and Neo-Nazi madness. While I have thought about quitting Facebook, I find great value in the connections and friends I have here, and it doesn't seem fair that I should lose that 1/4

The sad reality is, the overwhelming majority of Americans don't know there's a voter for the Speaker going on, don't care & won't be able to name him after the vote. This is what happens in a country where civics education is no longer universal. Its absence lets darkness settle in over democracy.
