🌱 Cosmos and critter for #insectThursday spotted in Wisley’s Hilltop Wellbeing garden.
Yesterday’s London outing was very successful. We went to see www.berkeleysquarebarbarian.com/2025/07/22/k...
Part of a Cosmos flower with a centre of yellow stamens and white petals that have splashes of pink at the centre. Near the edge of one of the petals is a black insect with transparent wings.

🌱 #roseWednesday One of the roses in the persica trial at Wisley. This one is called Rosa Orienta Djamila and is a real stand out beauty.
It’s a London day for me. Hope the trains behave better than last Friday.

Thank you for naming it. I spotted this one in the car park at Wisley but couldn’t find a label. The odd red fruits confused me.
The mainly yellow but with a couple of red tiny fruits against green foliage.

I spotted this Olive Tree growing in Pimlico, London and thought it was an ideal subject for #thicktrunkTuesdau

A group of three mushrooms which I think are Shaggy Inkcaps. They have a tall white stem and the caps are grey with mottled markings. One has split open and the black gills are visible.

Sadly no #sixonSaturday as Storm Amy keeps me indoors but here is an Echiveria flower looking gorgeous!
I shall huddle indoors while the storm rages. This afternoon one of my neighbours is hosting a get together.
Unusual flowers described as bell shaped. The open flower is bright orange which contrasts well with the grey fleshy foliage.

I have one in my garden which I grew from seed about 30 years ago. Every year I have about 4ft pruned off it to keep it from annoying the neighbours too much. It hardly ever flowers as a result.

Oh no no no no no!!!!!!!! Storm Amy has thrawted my plans to volunteer at Wisley’s Fungus Day tomorrow because the whole site is closed. I am so sorry @jassydrak.bsky.social that I won’t be seeing you as I had made a moss lichen and fungus brooch for you.
A brooch made from a curtain ring covered with grey bobbly yarn surrounding stitching using beads and threads to represent moss, lichen and fungi.

Some fungi growing on a tree stump. Some are grey growing flat on the top of the stump and others growing out of the side are shades of brown, green and grey.
