My course in the long story & novella @lindenwoodmfa.bsky.social kicked off this week. One of our first tasks is to consider what the various labels (short story, long story, novella, short novel, novel, etc.) even mean. It's not as simple as determining a word count.

Our MFA has no residency requirement, and our courses are eight weeks, allowing students flexible access to write and study from the comforts of home. We have students from around the country and the world, creating a vibrant, dynamic, and diverse community of writers!
