I work in internal comms + employee engagement.

I’m interested in what actually builds trust at work, not what looks good in decks.

If you’re thinking about culture, leadership, or listening beyond surveys, we’ll get along. 🤝
Employees in 2026 are choosing workplaces based on how they feel day to day. Clear growth paths, meaningful flexibility, and authentic leadership matter more than ever.

Culture is now a business strategy.

Most #internalcomms problems aren’t message problems. They’re priority problems.

What’s one thing leaders think builds trust, but actually does the opposite?

The future of work is less about perks and more about trust, clarity, and growth.

Employees want leaders who communicate honestly and cultures that support real life, not just productivity.

I used to think being “organized” meant having a system for literally everything.

(Enneagram 1 with perfectionist tendencies here 👋)

Now I realize it means having fewer systems that make the most impact.

What’s a system you’ve let go of recently?

Inclusion is a verb. It’s the active work of making sure every voice is heard and valued.

It’s not enough to invite people to the party; you have to make sure they feel welcome to dance. 💃 #Belonging #Workplace

Remote/Hybrid work requires intentionality.

Without watercooler moments, we have to work harder to ensure remote teammates don’t feel like they’re on an island.

Intentional connection is the antidote to isolation. 💻 #RemoteWork #Culture

AI dominated the 2024–2025 conversation, but 2026 is the year of the Leadership Reset.

Culture is stepping into the spotlight as the ultimate strategic asset.

It’s time to stop managing and start curating community.
Culture Council: The Leadership Reset: Why Culture Will Be the Real Celebrity of 2026
Culture has already taken the main stage. Leadership is just now catching up.

January doesn’t have to start with a bang.

I’ve been thinking about the concept of “wintering” — treating this season as time for reflection, rest, and recalibration instead of instant momentum.

Thoughtful starts often last longer than loud ones.

Want a quick employee engagement win? Ask yourself:

1) Does this employee know what's expected of them?

2) Do they have the materials and equipment needed to do their job?

Clarity and resources are the foundations of enablement (which builds trust and leads to engagement).

I used to be a die-hard paper planner person—pens, stickers, all of it. Loved it… until life and work moved too fast.

Now everything lives in one Google Calendar (work + life).

Less mental clutter, fewer dropped balls.

Function > nostalgia.

If your own employees don’t understand your WHY, the public certainly won’t.

When leaders prioritize consistent, honest communication, they reduce confusion, duplication of effort, and increase productivity.

What’s your most effective internal comms tool (that isn’t email)?

New Year’s thought: Giving advice to your younger self is tricky. You wouldn’t be who you are now if you’d known then what you know today.

Give your past self some grace, and commit to doing better now because you know better now.

Here’s to learning forward in the year ahead.

The data is loud and clear: Managers account for 70% of the variance in team engagement. (Gallup)

You can expend countless time and resources on culture strategies, but if you don't treat manager development as one of the most critical priorities, you’ll miss the target. 🎯

Want a quick employee engagement win? 🏆

Go back to basics.

1) Does this employee know exactly what's expected of them?

2) Do they have the materials and equipment they need to do their job right?

When these elements are missing, motivation is impossible.

We often (mistakenly) view humor as unprofessional.

But when teams feel safe enough to genuinely laugh with each other, they’re building the bedrock of #PsychologicalSafety.

When a tough moment arrives, they trust each other enough to ask for help and offer real compassion.
