If you “blow the light” that means you ignored the signal to wrap up so the next comic could get up. Good comics rarely blew the light, flop sweaty bombing cretins who were mad at the audience for not laughing were big light blowers. I think about this a lot

The thing I miss most about stand up comedy is the concept about “giving someone the light.” You flash your phone up from the back of the room and the comic knows he has 30 seconds to get the hell off the stage. I want to give people the light every day

i looked at the methodology for this and it is
a. sex addiction counseling group in texas did a surveymonkey and extrapolated the results to the entire us population which is the sort of research design that earns you an ff on an intro methods class (the extra f is for extra effort), and
b. p-hacked
