Seeing less US produce here in Ontario. Citrus is from Egypt, Morocco, Mexico, and South Africa. Lettuce is hydroponic and local. Can’t see returning to US produce, especially if they are cutting food safety standards.

Yes. My mom feels lonely too even though my dad is there physically and is a kind person. Dementia is very cruel. I’m so sorry you are going through this.

I should clarify, you can definitely ask questions. Just keep it really simple and targeted. Don’t try to drag him back to the original conversation unless it’s crucial. He switched to gardening for a reason — an unmet need. What that need is might not be obvious. Caregivers need to be detectives.

The person is trying to connect with you even if it doesn’t seem that way. Their brain can’t always follow. Do not ask them questions. Instead, try statements like, “You grew the best roses.” And see where that goes. If they switch topics, follow them there. It’s HARD!!💔

Agreed. I think the platform lends itself to black and white thinking. I want to learn more but am not sure where to getting in understanding the issues/background etc. There is so much noise. Open to recommendations. Can we start a list?
