The Texas House votes on SB 1013 this week. This traffic safety bill would clarify that drivers must yield to people on sidewalks entering driveways—just like they already must when exiting. Send a letter to your rep today! secure.everyaction.com/oIQrPSOS1UuY...

Public transit is a public good, but Texas isn’t investing in it.
In 2023 METRO received:
$899M from local sales tax
$251M from the federal government
$38M from fares
$6M from tolls
$0 from the State of Texas
Imagine what we could do with a portion of TxDOT's $100B 10YR budget
May 13, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Did you know 25% of METRO’s annual sales tax revenue goes to Houston, Harris County & nearby cities? Through the General Mobility Program, over $4 billion has supported street repairs, bridges, traffic signals, sidewalk repair & drainage improvements since inception.

One full bus can take up to 60 cars off the road = fewer emissions, less traffic, AND cleaner air for Houston.

Choosing transit or car-pooling over driving alone reduces your carbon footprint and helps us build a healthier, more sustainable city.
