i think it was just so crazy because a lot of us used to watch you in school, it’s like a teacher swearing 🤣

i spent far too long on that post trying to explain to grown adults why we should just choose better words and how it really isn’t that hard

its funny you think your ability to use a slur will end ableism. how strange. good day doug

literally a WEEK ago i was with someone who used it making fun of a man who was playing with butterflies and we all knew this man was intellectually disabled. it is absolutely still being used. the intention behind both words is to belittle a group of people. both words are offensive to these groups

i KNOW people suffer far more than me, and when those people tell me something hurts them, i put in just the little bit of effort that’s needed to keep from contributing to that hurt. it is REALLY that simple
February 3, 2025 at 7:03 AM
the fact that you tried to tokenize your disabled sibling tells me you are not mentally or intellectually disabled therefore it hasn’t been used against you. that word will not hurt you in the same way it hurts disabled people, this isn’t that hard to understand. my god

it isn’t to you because you’re just not getting it, or choosing not to at least. but ok. if you truly can’t just expand your vocabulary work with what you’ve got i suppose

sorry still figuring this app out 🤣

no thank you.
February 3, 2025 at 6:34 AM
maybe to you because this word wasn’t used to ridicule and belittle you, but it was and is for many many people. you can’t take back a word that was never used against you lol
February 3, 2025 at 6:34 AM
i mean i guess it’s your right to use it if you want to so desperately but it’s still hateful period. saying you’re not ableist bc you have a special needs sibling is giving “i’m not racist i have a black friend” lol there’s obviously no getting through to you so carry on i guess :/
February 3, 2025 at 6:32 AM
call it what you want lol. i have lived in the south my entire life and have always heard the R word used. it didn’t bother me this much until my son. now it lights a fire in me. it’s so easy to be a decent person honestly. slurs aren’t political, treat people with respect. it’s really that easy.
February 3, 2025 at 6:27 AM
sort of like making fun of an overweight woman by calling her fat in front of your overweight wife. this hurts your wife and tells her you think fat people are gross, even though you’re not insulting her directly. does this make sense?
February 3, 2025 at 6:22 AM
when it hurts a community and they tell you that it hurts, it’s easy for a decent human to find a different word. why are yall trying so hard to defend using a slur? i promise you the people you’re using it against don’t give a fuck. but the people who were made fun of with the word as kids do
