Last weekend we went to Longwood Gardens.
The Chimes - a little structure on the edge of the gardens. It has a waterfall and pond. The old pump house! You can now see the old pumps that were used until 2014. The new conservatory Chrysanthemum festival! This is one chrysanthemum plant!

I’m in Folsom, CA for work. Today I went to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. All of the animals are rescues.
- a peacock eating the bears’ lunch
- a woodpecker who was not a resident of the sanctuary

This weekend on the trail: a carrion beetle and a turtle!

A turtle the size of a large pizza floats just under the surface of the pond. A shiny little turtle charges his battery on a log. Round blobs of a red-orange fungus on a log. Good gravy, this sinkhole is almost the size of my hiking pole!
