PROTECT will offer new insights about the effects of local economic, environmental and sociocultural change on public support for protectionism, in order to advance theories of international political economy. It will clarify the conditions for more effective and inclusive economic policy 🌏🌍🌎

After a period of hyperglobalization, protectionist policies have become more entrenched over the past decade–policies that can benefit certain industries, but may curtail growth and international cooperation. The goal of the ERC-funded PROTECT is to understand public support for protectionism.
