✔️France applied for a construction licence
✔️Switzerland picked a site & started the regulatory process
✔️Canada selected a site & preparing for reg process

Like similar projects in other countries (including Canada, where I live), it will ensure future generations don't have the burden of managing waste we created.

Nuclear waste travels in durable casks that are built to handle just about anything. These things get put through wild tests - they can take a direct hit from a speeding train and survive being dropped onto spikes from 30 feet up all without breaking.
